“The thing I love about Shin-chan is his bratty-kid side. When I tease him, he says “Why, why?” in a really frank way, which is cute. Shin-chan’s good points are the ones that are like a bratty kid. But, on set, he’ll earnestly deliberate, “How would it be best to say my lines here…” At times like this, he doesn’t seem younger at all. He has parts of him that really pierce through me, so from here on out, I want him to go on without changing.”
